Product Scope
- ESL smoke
detectors are photoelectric and range in applications from 12/24V AC/DC hardwire for
residential or to battery operated wireless transmission to 120VAC direct wire products.
Model types are as varied as necessary to meet virtually every application need- whether
it be residential, commercial or industrial.
- Electronic Heat
Detectors are available in four styles featuring either 135oF or 194oF single circuit
fixed temperature models to 135oF or 194oF 4 single circuit fixed and rate of rise
temperature models.
- Manual Fire Alarm
(Pull) Stations: Choices include single action, dual action hex and/or key reset model
options. Units use terminal or pigtail connectors and are UL- CSFM listed. A weatherproof
model is available.

Engineering Specifications
The ESL 500 Series photoelectric smoke
detector is a low-profile, self-diagnostic, two-wire detector that monitors its own
sensitivity and operational status. This detector meets NFPA 72 field sensitivity
requirements without the need for external meters. Built-in drift compensation
automatically adjusts the sensitivity as the detector gets dirty. Normal sensing occurs
every 9 seconds. This rate doubles when a signal exceeding the alarm threshold value is
sensed. Two additional successive signals above the threshold level will initiate an
alarm. See installation instructions for information about correct installation and
maintenance. The proprietary optical sensing chamber is field replaceable, allowing quick
and easy cleaning and maintenance.
